Community Supports

The Department of HealthCare Services (DHCS) implemented the Community Supports (CS) services as part of the CalAIM initiative designed to address social drivers of health (factors in people's lives that influence their health).

These services are provided as cost-effective alternatives to, or in-lieu of, traditional medical services or settings such as a hospital, skilled nursing facility admission, or a discharge delay. The provision of Community Supports is voluntary for managed care plans and they are optional for beneficiaries.
